KS3 & GCSE Maths Tutoring
Secondary maths can be hard!
If your son or daughter is finding maths tricky they’re certainly not the only one. The knock on effect of GCSE maths exams being more challenging now than it used to be is that schools have increased the standard in years 7, 8 and 9 to prepare students for starting their GCSE courses. We have a team of excellent, patient and experienced KS3 and GCSE Maths tutors that can help your child understand the topics they’re finding difficult and boost their confidence, whatever year group they’re in, whatever level they’re working towards. For year 10 and 11 students, whether they’re aiming to pass or aiming for a level 9 it will need hard work and thorough revision.
1-2-1 tutoring in a small group setting
All of our KS3 and GCSE maths students receive 1-2-1 tutoring within a very small group setting; each week they choose exactly which topics they want to work on with their tutor. This way, we can support them with topics they’ve found difficult in class that week or work on any areas they feel unsure of. We also have access to excellent online GCSE maths programs written specifically for the 9-1 maths course, with literally thousands of practice exam-style questions and revision video clips. Students can also access this program from home to support the work our tutors do with them in their lessons. Prior to maths tests, mocks and the actual GCSE exams, we can help students with their revision and work on practice exam papers with them to build their confidence and exam techniques.
So do please contact us if your son/daughter would like any extra support with their secondary maths. Regardless of their level, it’s amazing the difference a little bit of focused 1-2-1 help each week can make to their confidence and final grade.

Why parents choose St Ives Tutoring Centre
Every child learns differently, which is why we never take a one-size-fits-all approach to learning. Our experienced maths tutors take the time to understand each child’s individual strengths, identify where extra support is needed and create a personalised learning journey that helps them grow in confidence, strengthen their understanding and enjoy learning again.
Experienced maths teachers
Our tutors are experienced maths teachers with an in-depth understanding of both the Key Stage 3 and GCSE National Curriculum for maths. From Year 7 through to Year 11, they know how to recognise where children need support, how to challenge those who are ready to progress further, and adapt every lesson to suit each individual student.
Personalised 1-2-1 Learning
Whatever stage a student is at with their maths, every lesson is tailored to their individual needs. By working at the right pace, we help children develop stronger skills, greater confidence and a hopefully develop a genuine enjoyment of learning.
Supportive Learning Environment
Our friendly and encouraging environment allows children to ask questions, make mistakes and develop without the pressures they can sometimes experience in a busy classroom. By building positive relationships with every student, we create a place where learning feels enjoyable, rewarding and achievable.
Strong Foundations for Future Success
Many learning difficulties stem from small gaps in understanding that have developed over time. Rather than simply moving on to the next topic, we identify those gaps, strengthen the core building blocks and ensure children have the confidence and knowledge they need before tackling more challenging work. It’s an approach that helps students make lasting progress, not just short-term improvements.
