Confidence Building
We recognise that all students, regardless of their age, learn so much better when they are motivated and confident. Our whole Centre ethos is exceptionally positive and geared towards boosting students’ self-esteem and giving them the confidence to ‘have a go’, put their hand up in class and generally feel better about their learning.
Our tutors are absolutely dedicated to supporting every child and building their confidence regardless of whether they are in year 1 or year 11, whether they are in the lower sets, the top set or somewhere in the middle. We choose our tutors very carefully (all have enhanced DBS checks) to ensure they share and are absolutely committed to our positive and understanding ethos, therefore ensuring we maintain and provide the most inspiring, encouraging and supportive environment possible for our students.
Please do call, email or pop in at some point and see how it works.

Is your child…
Lacking confidence?
Worried about School?
Struggling with motivation?
Why parents choose St Ives Tutoring Centre
Every child learns differently, which is why we never take a one-size-fits-all approach to learning. Our experienced primary tutors take the time to understand each child’s individual strengths, identify where extra support is needed and create a personalised learning journey that helps them grow in confidence, strengthen their understanding and enjoy learning again.
Experienced & Caring Tutors
Our tutors are experienced and enthusiastic with an detailed understanding of the National Curriculum. From Year 2 through to Year 11, they know how to recognise where children need support and have a patient and encouraging approach with all of our students.
Personalised 1-2-1 Learning
Whether your child is finding Maths or English difficult, preparing for SATs, or simply wants to build on their existing strengths, every lesson is tailored to their individual needs. By working at the right pace, we help children develop stronger skills, greater confidence and a genuine enjoyment of learning.
Supportive Learning Environment
Our friendly and encouraging environment allows children to ask questions, make mistakes and develop without the pressures they can sometimes experience in a busy classroom. By building positive relationships with every student, we create a place where learning feels enjoyable, rewarding and achievable.
Strong Foundations for Future Success
Many learning difficulties stem from small gaps in understanding that have developed over time. Rather than simply moving on to the next topic, we identify those gaps, strengthen the core building blocks and ensure children have the confidence and knowledge they need before tackling more challenging work. It’s an approach that helps students make lasting progress, not just short-term improvements.

Tuition subjects
We have a team of dedicated and experienced primary school teachers, including KS1 and KS2 specialists, who provide tutoring from year 1 to year 6.
With the introduction of the new 9-1 GCSE maths courses, more students than ever are finding GCSE maths tough. They really are a step up in standard.
The GCSE Science courses are changing from September 2017 to follow the 9-1 structure. We have specialist biology, chemistry and physics teachers.
Along with maths, GCSE English is probably the most crucial qualification for any 16 year old to pass. Our GCSE English tutors are all experienced.
We understand that children (and parents!) can find preparing for entrance exams stressful, so we provide a welcoming, safe learning environment…
