KS3 & GCSE Science tuition...

Biology, chemistry and physics tutoring, year 7 through to year 11 GCSE preparation

KS3 & GCSE Science

We offer science tutoring to all secondary students, whether they’re just starting in year 7 and covering the basics right through to year 11 students working on the triple science GCSE course. We have specialist biology, chemistry and physics teachers so whichever of the sciences your son or daughter is finding tricky we can help them out.

GCSE science students can choose each week what area they want to work on with their tutor, so we can support the work they are doing in class and ensure we follow the exact curriculum the students are working on in class. Most of the schools in our area follow either Edexcel or AQA science and so we have all the exam board specific materials and revision guides at the Centre.

Some students want to work on science and maths or English and in many cases we can arrange their lessons so they do alternate weeks with a science tutor and then a maths/English tutor.  If you’ve got any questions about our science tutoring do please let us know. You’re welcome to call, email or pop in at some point and see how it works.

GCSE Science

Is your child…

Struggling with confidence?

Finding the vocab hard in biology?

Worried about their science GCSE?

Lacking motivation?

Finding physics concepts hard?

Struggling with chemistry calculations?

How we can help your child

Every child learns differently. That’s why we tailor our tuition to each student’s individual needs, helping them strengthen their understanding, grow in confidence and enjoy learning again.

Fill Learning Gaps

Every child learns at their own pace, and it’s easy for small gaps in understanding to grow over time. We identify where extra support is needed, strengthen those foundations, and help children move forward with greater confidence.

Build Confidence

Children learn best when they believe in their own abilities. Through encouragement, personalised support and achievable goals, we help every student develop the confidence to tackle new challenges both in and out of the classroom.

Prepare For GCSE science exams

Our GCSE science tutoring is designed to reduce pressure, build confidence and ensure all students feel fully prepared for their science GCSEs. We support them with understanding the content, the physics and chemistry calculations and exam technique, hopefully helping all students to feel more confident and motivated as they go into their science exams.

Why parents choose St Ives Tutoring Centre

Every child learns differently, which is why we never take a one-size-fits-all approach to learning. Our experienced primary tutors take the time to understand each child’s individual strengths, identify where extra support is needed and create a personalised learning journey that helps them grow in confidence, strengthen their understanding and enjoy learning again.

Experienced Primary Teachers

Our tutors are experienced, fully qualified science teachers with an in-depth understanding of the science National Curriculum. They are all qualified to at least degree level in science, several to PhD level. From Year 7 through to Year 11, they know how to recognise where students need support, challenge those who are looking to study A level sciences, and adapt every lesson to suit the individual student.

Personalised 1-2-1 Learning

Whether your child is finding biology, chemistry or physics tricky, or simply wants to understand them better in preparation for A leves sciences, every lesson is tailored to their individual needs. By working at the right pace, we help all students develop stronger skills, greater confidence and a genuine enjoyment of learning.

Supportive Learning Environment

Our friendly and encouraging environment allows children to ask questions, make mistakes and develop without the pressures they can sometimes experience in a busy classroom. By building positive relationships with every student, we create a place where learning feels enjoyable, rewarding and achievable.

Strong Foundations for Future Success

Many learning difficulties stem from small gaps in understanding that have developed over time. Rather than simply moving on to the next topic, we identify those gaps, strengthen the core building blocks and ensure children have the confidence and knowledge they need before tackling more challenging work. It’s an approach that helps students make lasting progress, not just short-term improvements.
